A modern take on a beloved traditional mid-century indoor-outdoor staple.

Brise Blocks was developed during my time at RIOS to be brought to market in collaboration with an NDA concrete company. We noticed a gap in the marketplace on unique breeze block offerings that architects could use on their projects. Brise Blocks provide the possibility of infinite patterns, lighting effects, and shadows. They are a kit of parts, allowing the user to orient the individual elements to create a greater graphic composition. The product has been recognized as a winner in The Architecture's Newspaper Best of Products. With its sleek and contemporary design, this collection is a unique choice for architects and designers seeking a fresh take on a classic design, for both commercial and residential applications. With their artistic and practical qualities, Brise Blocks can be used in various applications such as privacy screens or building facades, while allowing natural light and air to flow through.

I was in charge of design concept development from sketches, 3D models, renderings, elevations, prototyping, manufacturing coordination, as well as color and finish selection for the pieces, and naming and storytelling for the line.
